When he was in high school in 1986, he was the winner of the student-drawing contest. In his Senior Year during his time at Doyle High School (now South-Doyle High School) in Knoxville, Conley was voted the ‘Most Talented’ of students who graduated. Conley was part of Amherst College’s A Cappella group known as the Zumbyes.
The comics syndicate United Media agreed in 1999 to air Conley’s new comic Get Fuzzy about an anthropomorphic cat named Bucky and a dog, Satchel living with their sole male owner, Rob Wilco, which was released on September 6th the 6th of September, 1999.
